11 Apr 1940, p10 - WED 64 YEARS. Mr. and Mrs. Rollin M. Huddleston observed their sixty-fourth wedding anniversary Friday at their home on the National road west of Cambridge City, where they have resided continuously for 62 years. Mr. Huddleston built the house in 1878. The day was observed quietly due to the advanced age of the couple. Mr. Huddleston in 86 years old and Mrs. Huddleston is 84. They were married April 5, 1876, in Indianapolis. Their children are Mrs. Robert A. Hicks, Mrs. William B. Woodward, and Fred R. Huddleston. The grandchildren are Miss Helen Hicks, Miss Pauline Woodward, Howard Woodward, and Mrs. Frank J. Carolan. Thomas Robert Carolan is a great-grandchild. Both Mr. and Mrs. Huddleston are mentally alert and interested in the news of the day. Considering their advanced years both are in fairly good health. The Huddleston family came to Indiana from North Carolina in 1815 and settled in Union county where Jonathan Huddleston opened a store near Liberty in 1816, bringing his stock from Cincinnati. The family came to the Cambridge City community in 1836, establishing homes on the National road, west of town. The only person who attended the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Huddleston now living in this community is Mrs. W.E. Floyd of Dublin.
