According to the 1880 censusS4, Robert H Smith had three children:

The 1885 Iowa State censusS6 shows four children:

Libbie (Abt 1882 - ) born in Delaware County, Iowa
According to the 1900 censusS3, Robert's wife, Tamison was the mother of three children, with two still living. Only Libie (born Aug 1881 in Iowa) remained at home.
Since the 1885 census lists four children, perhaps Henry M had a different mother, but the 1900 census indicates that Robert H and Tamison were married about 1863, before Henry was born.
