SHAW-BEWES At the new Jubilee Methodist Church, Tighe's Hill, on Saturday April 9, by the Rev. J. S. Thomas, Robert Charles Victor, late A.I.F., third son of Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Shaw, of Tighe's Hill, was married to Georgian, twin daughter of Mr. W. Bewes (late inspector Railway Department), and the late Mrs. Bewes of Cook's Hill. As the bride entered the church on the arm of her father (who gave her away), the congregation sang, "The Voice That Breathed O'er Eden." The bride was attired in a pretty frock of white organdie, trimmed with filet lace and insertion. She wore a white hat, with streamers, and carried a shower bouquet of dahlias, with streamers of green and brown ribbon, the bridegroom's battalion colors. The bride was attended by Miss G. M. Shaw (bridegroom's sister), who wore a cream frock, with hat to match, and carried a shower bouquet, with streamers of battalion colors. Mr. Hugh McCourt acted as best man. As the bridal party left the church. Miss Essie Jenkins played the "Wedding March." The wedding breakfast was held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Shaw, where the bridegroom's mother received the guests. Only the immediate relatives of both were present. The Rev. J. S. Thomas presided, and the usual toasts were honored. Mr. J. L. Fegan, M.L.A., proposed the toast of the parents. The honeymoon was spent in Sydney.
