↑ Although 27 Sep 1700 is quoted in many sources as the marriage date, it appears from various letters written by William Penn in October that the marriage itself didn't happen until October. On 1 Oct 1700, he appears to say was to be a witness (see here). On 6 Oct 1700, he indicates he is waiting to find out the date of the wedding, and that he intends to be in Philadelphia on 8 Oct (the 3rd day of the week, 6 Oct being the first day of the week) if her wedding is the 9th, or on 9 Oct if it is to be on the 10th (see here).
