'Richard2 Buckner had married ca.168? Elizabeth Cooke, daughter of Mordecai2 Cooke, Jr., of "Mordecai's Mount," Gloucester County, who had married Frances Ironmonger.' The author cites p. 165 of Colonial Families of the Southern States of America (2nd. ed., 1968) by Stella Pickett Hardy.

  3.   In the Buckner Books by Jim White (published around 2008), White claimed to have found a marriage record for Richard Buckner and Elizabeth Sampson, daughter of Thomas Sampson and his first wife, Elizabeth Johnson. However, White's work has been charged as being "fake genealogy", lacking sources in many cases and using forged sources in others. See What's wrong with Jim White's Buckner Books.
