Stephen Gates of Hingham and Lancaster, Massachusetts, and His Descendants, p. 28, indicate a marriage by 1740. The first source offers no explanation. The second source misidentifies the wife, so may not be credible, but places the marriage prior to their relocation to Leominster, hinting that a dismissal from, or admission to, church, as Reuben's wife, is the basis for this earlier estimate??
