    Philip Jean's application for pension for service in Rev. War as aprivate under Gens. Gates, Caswell, and Williams--directly under Cols. Jarvis & Hawkins. Fought in Gen Gates defeat in NC and around Rediforts Mill. Birth identified as 27 Oct 1762 in Brunswich County, VA. Moved to Warren County, NC at 10 yrs old, and again to Guilford County, NC. Wife identified as Sarah Peeples Jean by her brother Wyatt Peeples, married Philip 22 Jun 1786. Sarah was born 1 Jan 1768. Children: Son Wyatt born 22 Mar 1789, Daughter,Nancy born 1 Nov 1792, Bitsey born 10 Mar 1802, Wyatt (2nd son that name) born 23 Aug 1808, Saly was born 17 Oct 1811. Philip's pension was $21.66 per year. He died 18 Nov 1847.
