Genealogical and Encyclopedic History of the Wheeler Family in America, p. 35 identifies Peter's wife as Betsey, but has no further information, and it is unknown what this simple assertion is even based on. There is a marriage record of Peter Wheeler Jr. and Elizabeth Drury in New Ipswich, on 26 Mar 1778, and this could be Elizabeth Drury, d/o Zedekiah Drury and Hannah Flagg of Framingham, Hollis and Temple, b. 1752. Source:Drury, Edwin. Line of Descent from Hugh Drury of Boston, 1640, to Edwin Drury of Wilmette in 1880 has no information about this Elizabeth besides her birth. But there is not a shred of evidence to support any of this speculation which derives solely from Wheeler's unsupported assertion that Peter's wife was named Betsey.
