On 26 October 1649, "Matthew Keene, Josias Keene, John Shaw, husband of Martha the daughter of Matthew Keene, & Nathaniel Hunne, husband of Sarah the daughter of Matt[hew] Keene aforesaid did constitute Capt. Robert Harding of Boston in New England, merchant, their true and lawful attorney … to ask, levy, recover &c. from the executor of the last will &c. of Walter Keene late of Checkenden Parish in the County of Oxford certain legacies" [Aspinwall 249-50; Hale, House 11-14].
