The DOM for this couple is commonly given as 2 march 1721/22, and is presumably based on the Regissters of the Derry Cathedral in Ireland per Source:Speer, Deirdre. Ireland research report for the Ewing Family Association APPENDIX 6
REGISTERS OF DERRY CATHEDRAL Mic 1/18-20, 26-28, 1703-c.1750. marr, 2nd Mar 1721/2 Nathaniel Ewing & Reachall Porter

  3. There are some locational issues concerning this family. The 1721 DOM at Templemore, Londonderry is commonly cited for this couple. Source:Speer, 1992 gives this same date at Derry Cathedral. Derry Cathedral is in Templemore parish, Londonderry. However, Rachel is said to have been the daughter of Josias Porter, and his residence is variously given as Londonderry, Coleraine, and Eghlan More. All locations are within 20 miles or so of each other, but the variation in places may indicate a confusion of records. That is there may be multiple Rachel Porters at this time, and it is not clear which one married Nathaniel Ewing.
