    Nathaniel Edwards m. (3) Thankful ---.
[Estimated marriage date of after 1719 is based on death of second wife Elizabeth 5 Apr 1719. The Corbin Cards are a little confusing because one record shows Nathaniel & Thankful having children in the 1690's, but inspection of the town records for births in 1698 tells us that "Elizabeth" is on the original, "Thankful" on the copy, for the birth of Joseph. The copyist of the town records probably confused it with another family, Benjamin and Thankful Edwards, who are found in the records in 1690s, and so it appears to be an error on his part that made into Corbin's cards. Therefore, this card probably should be ignored as an error, and doesn't indicate Nathaniel and Thankful were married in 1698, especially since the death of his second wife Elizabeth isn't recorded until 1719. Nathaniel did have a third wife who died in 1727 according to Corbin's copy of the town records, but no name is given in the death record, so all of the above doubt makes it not entirely clear her name actually was Thankful. Corbin has another card showing the marriage of a Nathaniel Edwards to Hannah French 3 Sep 1719, and also Nathaniel Edwards to Mary Strong 18 May 1720. Both of these marriages have children attributed to them, and given that Nathaniel would have been about 63, they are probably not him?]
