Found "in the Boston records" the marriage of Alice Cowdery to Nathaniel Butterfield 30 Oct 1748, and mentions a "publishment" on 17 Sep 1748. Believes Alice is the daughter of Samuel Cowdery, by one of his two wives, either Alice Mean, or Sarah Nicholson, but "we have not been able to prove it." [Note: There is recorded in Chelmsford the death of David Cowdry, the son of Widow Alis Butterfield in 1752, and her own death is recorded in 1777, age 90, suggesting a birth in 1687. Both of these suggest she was not a daughter of Samuel, but more likely a widowed sister-in-law, or something similar.]
