History of the Town of Dunbarton, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, from the Grant by Mason's Assigns in 1751, to the Year 1860, p. 234, says, "From an examination of several papers now in the possession of John Burnham, Esq., of this town ... his wife was Hannah Choate, of Ipswich." The marriage record clearly disagrees, and unless she is shown to be a widow, Choate appears to be incorrect. Possibly the source of confusion is, as some sources suggests, she is the daughter of Thomas Burnham and Hannah Cogswell, who later married a Thomas Choate.
