Sir Michael Nasmyth was living in 1603, died between 1603 and 1609, married in or before 1554, Elizabeth Baird, daughter of John Baird of Passo, who died 1527. John was son of Sir Gilbert Baird, killed at Flodden Field 1513.
The first of the name in Peeblesshire was Sir Michael Naesmyth, chamberlain to the Archbishop of St. Andrews, who in 1544 married Elizabeth, daughter and heiress of John Baird of Posso.
