- ↑ There are very few records of this couple. There is a Melvin Bishop that died in 1887 which is very attractive because the children seem to stop in 1886. His records give his occupation as cigar maker so are relatively easy to tie together. However, it is not clear he had a wife Celia (e.g., see here, record 80). There is a Celia Bishop that married 1886 William Gillett but her parents appear to be named Bishop (e.g., here, record 2659; here, record 4613), so not a widow. Both appear to be poor matches leaving nothing promising. Note the uncertainty about the mother's maiden name in the records of daughter Katherine.
