He [Martin Blodgett] came to New York State about 1787-1790 to near Clinton, Oneida Co., where he m. Philena Rice about 1806. Later he moved to Gorham, Ontario Co., N.Y. He and Philena had children, Amanda b. 1808, Ansel b. 1811, Melinda b. 1812, Elvira b. 1814, Martin Jr. b. 1815. Of these children, Melinda who mar. William Johnson, Elvira who mar. Myron Morris, and Martin, Jr. who never married all died in Huron Co., Ohio.
