    Born Aug. 15, 1913, in Peoria, Ill., she was the daughter of August and Amy Bullock Coeur. On Jan. 26, 1933, she married Marshall L. Burling in Ferris, Ill. He died Sept. 19, 1999.

    Mrs. Burling worked at Halbach Schroeder for nine years and Block & Kuhl, both in Quincy, Ill.

    She moved with her parents to a farm in Sonora Township, where she lived until her marriage. She lived in Ferris until moving to Quincy in 1941. She joined the Toastmasters Club and was past president and was active in Vermont Street United Methodist Church while in Quincy. She moved to Carthage in 1956, where she was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Triangle Sunday school class. She also was a 50-year member of Grace Chapter No. 67 Order of Eastern Star.

    Survivors include one nephew; two nieces, and two sisters-in-law, Maxine Lucille Bell and Norma Jeannette Guymon, both of Carthage.

    Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter.

    There will be no visitation. The body has been cremated.

    A graveside service for Mrs. Burling will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage, with the Rev. William Pyatt officiating.

    A memorial has been established for Hancock County Nursing Home.

    Lamporte Funeral Home in Carthage is in charge of arrangements."
