Source:Ward, Andrew Henshaw. Ward Family, p. 96, says Hannah Merritt was a widow. It is not known what the basis for this assertion is. If it is so, she is probably the Hannah Marr who married in Western (Warren) 1764 Samuel Merritt and had three children in Charlton: Lydia in 1766, Ruth in 1767, and "Ezekiel alias Samuel" in 1769. But no death record has been found for Samuel, nor does he seem to have a probate file in the Worcester index.
