Mr. Levi Gates and Mrs. Elizabeth Blanchard, both of Mercer were married December 31. 1834 - by me Oren Sikes.
Elizabeth was wife of Levi Gates when she died in 1858, and she appears to match the census record in Maine in 1850 (line 3). After she died, her husband and ?son? are found in Washington Territory in 1860 (lines 16 and 19), the father having no wife. It is not clear if the younger Levi was her child, or of an earlier wife, as the marriage is at the very end of 1834 so if the age of the younger Levi is correctly represented, he was born before the marriage. Additionally, the marriage to a Mr. Blanchard has not been discovered yet.
