↑ That both towns recorded intentions in 1768, by two clerks each with their own dates, no not simply a copy but actual independent records, suggests the marriage date was 1768, and so it has been presumed. Additionally a gravestone gives the first wife's death date as 25 Mar 1767, making 19 Apr 1767 very unlikely, if credible, but since the gravestone was erected in 1864, perhaps not convincing without the above assumption.
