↑ Betsey Taft has not been identified. Three possible births are found, 2 can be ruled out, leaving the daughter of Japheth and Polly Taft, b. Mendon 1790, to account for. Of course, she could come from a different state so this is not conclusive. Since son Keith is called the son of Betsey Bass in his death record, it is wondered if his mother is the "Betsey Rice" who married Aaron Bass in Warwick, where Keith lived for a time. She is about the right age. Even if true, it doesn't help determine her parentage, nor is the implied intermediate marriage known.
