  5.   One of the better candidates for the wife of Jotham by age is Abigail Marion, d/o Ignatius, whose birth is recorded in Woburn 20 Mar 1760 and whose baptism is recorded in Burlington (i.e., the second precinct of Woburn) on 30 Mar 1760. It is not clear why she is called of Danvers in the marriage record. Several of her brothers were known as Merriam. Source:Stearns, Ezra S. History of Ashburnham Massachusetts from the Grant of Dorchester Canada to the Present Time, 1734-1886 with a Genealogical Register, p. 820, says that Abigail, d/o Ignatius, "d. unmd. in Francestown, NH". One is inclined to doubt the "unmarried" part, because one of the few mentions of Jotham Reed is in a 1791 petition with neighbors asking their land to be annexed to this same Francestown (Source:Cochrane, W. R. History of Francestown, N.H., from Its Earliest Settlement, April 1758, to January 1, 1891, p. 130). Their co-location in the same area, given the names in the marriage record, seems a little too coincidental.
