Prudence --- 1769 and had Isaac and Joshua. No such record is found, and this is nearly inconceivable. At the time of the marriage in 1769, the wife was 54 years old and had not had a child for 10 years, 9 of which she was still married to her first husband. There is no evidence of a son Isaac or Joshua in probate or deeds or birth records, nor are such names found in Prudence's first marriage. This assertion is almost certainly a confusion with the sons Isaac and Joshua of Josiah's son Nathaniel, who d. 1761, perhaps leaving the grandsons to be cared for by their grandfather. Still, even if that is so, their age shows their birth greatly preceded the second marriage, so attributing them to Prudence makes no sense.
