"Joshua Silvester (Samuel, John, Richard), born at Marshfield, 5 Apr. 1708, died at Pownalborough (now Wiscasset), Me., after March 1768. He married, as early as 1738, Mary _____, who survived him and was living 8 Feb 1798, when their son David made his will.
"At the time of his marriage he had probably already moved to Pownalborough.... He was elected a sealer of leather at the first town meeting in Pownalborough, held 25 Jan 1760, and held the same office in 1763, 1766, and 1768. He was surveyor of timber and boards and culler of staves in 1762."
