- ↑ Source:Wendell, Franklin, Massachusetts, United States. Births, Deaths, Marriages and Intentions, 1760-1890 (Approx.), Wendell, Massachusetts, p. 270, has recorded death of three children of this couple that are hard to place:
1819, 21 Jan, Jonathan son of Joshua Bancraft (Jonathan lived and his age at death matches a birth in 1818) 1819, 29 Jan, David son of Joshua Bancraft (no son David listed in family register) 1820, 30 Jun Daughter of Joshua Bancroft (not enough information) No ages are given, no gravestones located. This is enough difficulty to wonder if it applies to a different person, though no such other person is known about. Possibly the Jonathan record was meant to be Benjamin for whom no further information is known. David may be an unrecorded son born in the sizable gap between Ruth in 1811 and Jonathan in 1818, and the daughter may be Polly for whom no further information is known. No probate is found for the father, but the mother's will is not inconsistent with this possibility as none of these children (or heirs of theirs) are mentioned.
