↑ Allen, John Kermott. "thomas Bancroft of Dedham and Reading, Mass., and Some of His Descendants", in NEHGR, Vol. 94, p. 315, identifies Joshua's second wife as widow Betty Eaton with no further identification. It is not surprising that she would be a widow. While she is called Mrs. in the intentions, this is not reliable and it is unknown whose widow she is.
