- ↑ If the person sharing the common name of Joseph Walker that is shown in this 1830 census record from Newport, Herkimer, New York, turns out to be the same Joseph Walker (assumed so based on his presence there 20 years later), then he had 4 children in 1830, one over 5 so born sometime before 1825. Hence the estimated marriage about 1823. As he is from Massachusetts, his wife is from Connecticut, and they are living in New York, it is hard to say where the marriage occurred. Comments on the person page of Joseph indicate he was living in Herkimer county but clearly the census records contain too little information to justify that, and the assumption that he one of the people described by them appears incorrect, as discussed on his talk page.
