SARAH, bap. at HL., Ap. 10, 1748, being ab. 22 years old, so b. about 1726. She m. Oct. 9, 1737, Joseph, s. of Nathaniel and Sarah Beckwith, who was b. Dec. 11, 1715. According to the record, she d. Aug. 3, 1750, and her husband m. (2d), March 3, 1751, Mrs. Mary Scovel of E. H. But the record of the birth of Asa Beckwith, the first child of this 2d marriage, gives the date as June 3, 1753, while that of his baptism is given as Aug. 20, 1749, from which it would seem there was an error in the record of her death, and that it probably occurred Aug. 3, 1746, and the 2d marriage was not later than March 3, 1748, and the first child was b. in 1749.
Children—Beckwith.
I. Joseph, b. Feb. 17, 1739; bap. Aug. 31, 1746; d. Dec. 5, 1807, "in his 71st year."
II. Sarah, b. May 26, 1745; bap. as above; m. Nathan Peck of Lyme.
III. Prudence, (twin,) b. March 18, 1748; bap. as above.
IV. Patience, (twin,) b. March 18, 1748; bap. as above; m. Wood of Lyme.
But the birth of the 2d child should probably be placed in 1742 or 1743, and of the twins in 1746, and they were bap. four weeks after their mother's death.
