The will of Jonathan Whipple, dated 5 Sep 1721, mentions his wife Anne. (Source:Smith, Dean Crawford. Ancestry of Emily Jane Angell, 1844-1910 notes that the first wife is known to be alive at least until 1 Mar 1702/03.)
Whipple, Annah, widow of Jonathan, [died] March 5, 1724.
Says that among the children of Edward Smith and Mercy Mowry was "Anne who married Jonathan Whipple". [Edward Smith d. 9 Nov 1726, after the wife of Jonathan Whipple, so this is presumably why she is not mentioned in the probate documents.]
