"Wheaton, … Jonathan, m. Anna Cook, b. of Branford, Dec. 3, 1749, by Rev. Philemon Robbins [3:122]"
The identification of this Anna Cook as the wife of Jonathan Wheaton is not proven but is considered probable based on the following: (1) Only two women named Ann/Anna Cook (both born in Wallingford) are identified in the published Connecticut vital records as being age appropriate and geographically near enough to Branford to be considered as the likely wife of Jonathan. The other, Ann Cook, daughter of Israel and Elizabeth, is known to have married Enos Ives of Wallingford in 1749; (2) This Anna's father Isaac had removed from Wallingford to Branford some time after the birth of his daughter Lydia in 1732.
