Conflation of families?

It appears that the children linked to this family are not all children of the Jonathan Deane who wrote his will 23 Sep 1718 in Jamaica. Some may belong to a Jonathan and Elizabeth Deane who sold land at Jamaica in 1729 (see Boston Evening Transcript: Genealogy Pages 26 Aug 1931, Note 2434, which might (or might not) have confused which Jonathan Deane was the son of Samuel Deane of Jamaica).

The children mentioned in the 23 Sep 1718 will of Jonathan Deane (whose wife was Margaret) are:

  • Jonathan
  • Nickelas (second son)
  • Samuel
  • Joseph
  • Isaac (not yet of age)
  • Elizabeth
  • Rachell
  • Dinah (not yet of age)
  • Ruth (not yet of age)
