  3.   There are two candidates for the husband.

A couple of sources match Jonas, the son of Stephen, with Mary Cutting, not Jonas, the son of Francis. Source:Vinton, John Adams. Richardson Memorial, #1754, p. 236, pub. 1876, identifies the husband of Mary Cutting as son of Stephen. Source:Cutter, William Richard. Genealogical and Personal Memoirs Relating to the Families of Boston and Eastern Massachusetts, p. 1:514, does the same, but being published in 1908, Cutter may have relied on Vinton.

Jonas, the son of Francis (#1766, p. 239) married Esther Wellman in 1749 according to Vinton, but this is based on a shaky assumption that the recorded husband of Esther, Thomas Richardson, was a mis-recording of Jonas, there apparently being no Thomas Richardson in Attleboro. However, this assumption would also require believing that Jonas was again recorded as Thomas in all the birth records of his children. This seems unlikely.

However, since the man who married Mary Cutting is called Jonas of Attleborough in the marriage record of Sudbury, it makes more sense to think he was son of Francis of Attleborough, b. 11 July 1714 (per Source:Attleboro, Bristol, Massachusetts, United States. Vital Records of Attleborough, Massachusetts, to the End of the Year 1849, p. 215).

Source:Holman, Winifred Lovering. Briggs Family Records, p. 102, says Jonas was living in Attleboro 1759, but shows no marriage information for him.
