"In addition to the Glastonbury baptisms reported above, there was another child of a John Otis baptized, on 23 June 1604, a daughter but the name is illegible. Since the Glastonbury register does not commence until 1603, and since the next baptism for a child of John Otis did not occur until 1610, we cannot be certain that this 1604 baptism belongs in the family of the immigrant."
"Many secondary sources give his first wife's name as Margaret and his age at death as seventy-six. Both of these statements are possible, but neither has been supported in contemporary documents."
