Skowhegan, June 26---The marriage of Miss Evelyn Webb Fletcher and John Valton Neil took place at 10:30 Tuesday forenoon, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert C. Fletcher, Middle road, Skowhegan. The bridal party marched down the stairs to the living room to the music of the "Lohrengin" "Bridal Chorus" played by Mrs. Marion T. Oddy. The attendants were the cousin of bride and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde F. Mower of Dexter. The double ring service was performed by Dr. George Merriam of Bethany Baptist church. The bridal party stood against a background of green and white composed of ferns and flowers. The bride wore a dark blue silk sport ensemble suit with hat and shoes to match. Her attendant wore a light blue dress with white hat. Both carried flowers. Mrs. Marion Oddy sang "O Promise Me." Refreshments were served the guests by Mrs. Letha White, Mrs. Marion T. Oddy and others.
Mr. and Mrs. Neil will take a wedding trip, and afterward will live with the bride's parents on their farm. Mr. Neil is engaged extensively in poultry raising.
The bride was graduated from Skowhegan high school in 1930, and Mr. Neil from the same school in 1923. Both are members of Skowhegan grange, Somerset Pomona, and of the choir of Bethany Baptist church. Mr. Neil is a member of Bethany Baptist church. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Neil of Smithfield. Three years ago he was graduated from the Bartlett School of Tree Surgery in Stamford, Conn.
