- ↑ Source:Greene, Francis Byron. History of Boothbay, Southport and Boothbay Harbor, Maine, 1623-1905 590, says Lydia is "thought to have been dau. of Nathaniel and Martha Winslow". Nathaniel and Martha are found as witnesses on various legal documents. It is suspected that Nathaniel is the same Nathaniel Winslow of Bristol, ME, whose widow Anna was granted administration on 23 May 1776 (see Lincoln Probate Vol. 2, . 26-27). But little can be found for him (i.e., no birth records of his children, no list of heirs in the probate records). Some coverage of the Winslow Family is discussed here but seems to be largely conjectural. Among the comments found is that he may have "possibly lived in Salem (MA) at least during the tumult of the mid 1740s." If true, then Lydia is probably the Lydia baptized there in 1746 (Salem VRs, Vol. 2, p. 438), which is a reasonable date for a woman who married 1769. However, the three baptisms in Salem name the mother as Mary, so this is far from clear. More research is needed.
