According to Mr. Jacobus, the identification of John Mix's first wife as a Farrand was doubtful. It should be noted, however, that her second child was named "Nathaniel Farrand Mix." There was a Farrand family in Milford during the eighteenth century, but Mrs. Abbott does not identify an Elizabeth born late enough to have married this John Mix.
