↑ Florence and Jack’s marriage record has not been found, but it seems reasonable to assume that they married in Malta shortly after her conversion to Catholicism there on 21st August 1902. The earliest army Catholic chaplain’s marriage register for Malta only begins in 1904. In the 1911 census Florence and Jack indicated that they had been married for nine years, and Jack was transferred from Malta to Bermuda in October 1902. The birth records of their daughters Dorothy and Norah back in England confirm that Florence's maiden name was Sansum, and her obituary confirms the link to the Long Melford family.
