The boys were all red-heads and all musical. Paul McClintock built an organ in Hainan, China, where he was a missionary.

John Calvin McClintock and Mary Ellen McKean had a common grandmother, Mary McGowan. Mary McGowan first married William McClintock, an Irish immigrant and the grandfather of John Calvin McClintock. Several years after his death, she married Robert McKean, the grandfather of Mary Ellen McKean.
