  2. It is speculated that this marriage included this John Hartshorn, though no conclusive evidence is known of. Source:Hartshorn, Derick Sibley. Hartshorn Families in America, p. , says so, but as that source did not identify who Mary Morse was, the research might hot have been very extensive. No probate or deed has been found to confirm this. The presence of "Mrs." in the intention has been influential but use of that term was somewhat ambiguous at the time. Obadiah Morse d. 1776 and it appears his daughter m. 1774 Samuel Rhoads, and that John's son John m. 1780 Catherine Allen, leaving it likely that the older John did marry the widow Mrs. Mary (Willet) Morse, b. 1736, just barely young enough to have a son Jabez in 1779.
