"Margery [Hubbell] … m. (by Israel Chauncey, rec. New Haven) 27 Nov. 1700, Mr. John Glover. Though called Mrs. Margery Hubbard, the 'Mrs.' was a title of respect often conferred on maidens of good family, and Hubbard an error of the New Haven clerk for Hubbell. Marriage by the Stratford minister (Chauncey, who was husband of Margery's aunt Mary Nichols) implies Stratford as the home of the bride. The Glovers removed from New Haven to Stratford, and Margery's brother Richard m. her husband's half-sister Abigail Thompson."
