    It's possible that Mary Love was not the mother of all of John Dow's children. Daughter Betsey (Dow) Billington's death record identified her mother as "Elizabeth Saley." Also son William Dow's middle name was Sally, probably a family name. Who this Elizabeth Saley or Sally was is unknown.
