John Brice's obituary reads, "Ex-labor leader's rites set - Services for John B. Dennis, 75, of 4115 S. Calhoun St., will be 10 a.m. Friday in D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home. He was dead on arrival at 6:29 p.m. Tuesday at Lutheran Hospital. Mr. Dennis, a lifelong resident of Allen County, retired in 1965 from General Electric Co., where he had worked 42 years. He was past president of Local 901 in the International Union of Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers AFL-CIO and was one of the original signers of the first national contract between General Electric and the union. He was a past officer of the Central Labor Council in Fort Wayne and was one of the organizers of the Federal Credit Union of General Electric. He was a past officer in the IUE Retired Workers, as officer in the Old Motor Generator Club and Turkey Creek Conservation Club and was a member of GE Quarter Century Club, Moose Lodge and Southwest Conservation Club. Surviving are his wife, Fern M.; a stepdaughter...; a brother, Hollie, Fort Wayne; and a sister, Mrs. Velma Wilder, Fort Wayne...5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Haven IOOF Cemetery. Preferred memorials are gifts to Moose Lodge Children's Fund." [Journal Gazette, Thursday 29 April 1976, pg. 2c]

Fern's obituary reads, "FERN M. GREER SMITH DENNIS, 98, died Thursday at The Arbors of Fort Wayne. Born in Allen County, she was a homemaker. Her husband, John B., died in 1976. Surviving are a daughter...; and two granddaughters. Services at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Mungovan & Sons Memorial Chapel, 2114 S. Calhoun St., and 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4525 Arlington Ave. Calling from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven. They are both buried at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in New Haven, Indiana.
