Source:Adams, Bertram. Incomplete History of the Descendants of John Perry of London, 1604-1954, p. 636, identifies Martha as the d/o Joseph Perry and Abigail Holbrook, b. 2 May 1728. This is probably taken from Source:Morse, Abner. Genealogical Register of the Inhabitants and History of the Towns of Sherborn and Holliston, p. 191. Neither source provides any justification. No age at death is given in the death record of John's wife, Martha, 4 years later, in 1754. However, given that John was about 73 at the time, and this Martha was 22, it seems possible this might be an error. In 1736, the elder Joseph Perry, father of the one who married Abigail Holbrook, died, and his widow Martha (Lovet) Perry administered the estate, still a widow in 1738 when the estate was divided. She would be about the same age as John Death, and without some evidence, would be the expected Martha Perry that might have married the aged John Death as his third wife. There appears to be no probate file for the younger Joseph Perry to provide clues about his daughter.
