- ↑ Source:Hayward, Silvanus. History of the Town of Gilsum, New Hampshire, from 1752 to 1879, p. 298, says John Davis m. Margaret Forbes, but the record of the marriage hasn't been located. The state copies of some (the last three) of the childrens' birth name the mother as Margaret Forbes, but the town copy does not show this nor is there any section on the Forbes name to identify her (p. 308). No birth record has been located.
