Sarah FERREE purchased a lot and home in Strasburg in 1807 and then deeded to David WITMER in 1808 in trust as Rebecca and her new husband, Abraham WITMER, were both minors. In the deed it states that Rebecca is "her only daughter" - Sarah is referred to as a Spinster. I believe Sarah is the daughter of Isaac and Susan (GREEN) FERREE as Isaac left a very large estate which would have allowed Sarah to purchase this property at that time. Some sources state that this Sarah married John KERR but Sarah, the daughter of David and Mary Kerr (LEFEVRE) FERREE was also of the right age and location (Strasburg) to have married him and the KERR family was already intermarried in that branch.
