    5 Jul 1708: John Browne (the son of John Brown on the hill so called ) of Reading [and Lydia my now married wife] for £35 to Joseph [Rist/Rift?] of Reading, 10 acres in Reading it being all my fathers lot that was called first division bounded [among others] by land that is belonging to the Richardsons that was formerly Benjamin Hartshorns.

  2. There is also a son Stephen listed in Reading VRs, but no birthdate is given in the record. Could this be the John and Lydia Brown of Weston mentioned by Bond, p. 732.
