- ↑ No source was provided for the marriage date of 1645 that was found on this page. Neither is there an explanation for what the estimated marriage date of 1652 from Source:History of Weymouth, Massachusetts is based on, but presumably it is derived from the birth of the eldest son John in 1653, which in turn, is derived from his age at death. Source:History and genealogy of the Bicknell family : and some collateral lines of Normandy, Great Britain and America, comprising some ancestors and many descendants of, p. 4, says "There are reasons for believing that there was a fourth child by the first marriage by the name of Sarah, b. 1648, m. Thomas Reed, 1670. (Authority, Q. L. Reed.)". This would require a marriage about 1647. Other sources use a birthdate of 1651 for Sarah which would require a marriage by 1650. It is unfortunate the reasons for believing in the fourth child were not made explicit, as casual inspection makes it appear unlikely. It would be very typical to have the two oldest children named after the parents, and Sarah destroys that pattern. Whatever conclusion is reached, it would appear that the estimate of the marriage date needs to be adjusted accordingly.
