- Know all men by these presents that we John Emick & Valentine Kiger are held and firmly bound to John Page, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia or his successors .........sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to which payment well & truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs executors & jointly and severally firmly by these presents, Witness our hands and seals this 3rd day of Jany, 1804 (sic).
