  3. There are two Mehitable Willmarths in Rehoboth. The daughter of John and Ruth (Kendrick) Willmarth was born in 1675. The daughter of Thomas and Mary (Robinson) Willmarth was born in 1680/81. One m. 1700 Ebenezer Walker, and she d. 1702. One m. 1705 Jeremiah Ormsbee.

Traditional presentations pair the daughter of John and Ruth with Ebenezer Walker, and the daughter of Thomas and Mary with Jeremiah Ormsbee. No evidence supporting this has been located (no probate for either father, no age at death in 1702, no deeds showing any relation), and it appears this is based solely on birth order?

In 1748, Mehitable Ormsbee said she was above seventy years of age. This implies she was born by 1678, and would appear to contradict the traditional presentations.

Given that Jeremiah Ormsbee's mother was named Mary, it does not appear that any of the children of Jeremiah and Mehitable were named after either set of parents.
