James Wyche's wife at the time of his death was Elizabeth. His will was written on 24 Feb 1748 and probated 20 Jun 1749. Witnesses were James Terrell and William Pettway. Will recorded in Surry County Book 9 [probably Wills and Administrations), p. 611.
Children and bequests named in the will are:
- Amy Jackson, daughter, her husband Ambrose, one negro for life, then to her heirs
- Tabitha Lucas, daughter, one lamb
- James Wyche, eldest son, lower part of land at Flagg Gutt . . . below Great Island to John Tharp's path.
- Martha Bridges, daughter, one ewe lamb
- Elizabeth Johnson, daughter, one negro
- Nathaniel Wyche, youngest son, the remainder of the land and two negroes
- Sarah Wyche, daughter, one ewe
- Ann Wyche, daughter, a negro
- Frances Wyche, daughter, one ewe, negro, etc.
- Rebecca Wyche, daughter, one negro 1
